Hi, I'm Katie. I'm an arts administrator-turned-software engineer with a passion for learning and embracing the unknown. Whether it's changing careers (once), moving to a new city sight unseen (twice), or pursuing further education (three times now!), I thrive in situations that take me outside of my comfort zone and challenge me to grow.
As a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut, a Broadway star, a marine biologist, a UN interpreter, and countless other daydreams that involved creativity, curiosity, and connection. Translated to my career today? I want to:
Make cool things to make the world a better place.
I'm working on fulfilling that dream as a full-stack developer and recent graduate of Prime Digital Academy. Currently I'm most comfortable working in the SEAN stack (SQL, Express.js, AngularJS, and Node.js), but I love to learn and have a demonstrated ability to pick up new skills and technology quickly. Since graduating from Prime, I've dabbled in some C#/.NET, and right now I'm focusing on learning the basics of Go; I'll be diving into React shortly, and I look forward to adding to my engineering tool belt for years to come. With my previous experience as an arts administrator, I bring effective and empathetic communication and customer service skills alongside my programming abilities, and I thrive in small, team-oriented environments.
